Congratulations to Mason Bradley on being accepted into the 2025 All-State Show Choir! The ensemble will perform on July 21 at Central College in Pella, IA.
On Friday, April 25, 27 Van Meter Student Conservation Club (VMSCC) members participated in a spring field trip and service project!
The day began with a tour of one of the nation's largest native prairie seed distributors—Allendan Seed, located in Winterset. We toured greenhouses, viewed machinery, and tried our hand at prairie plug transplanting. Students then took part in a roadside cleanup along our adopted section of Highway F-90. Thanks to Officer Delic for ensuring our safety during this activity!
Finally, VMSCC members gathered at Trindle Park for a picnic lunch and oriole feeder-building session. Migrating orioles will soon return from Central and South America.
Our next VMSCC event will be attending the Loess Hills Prairie Seminar at the end of the month!
