My name is Brian Gordon and my wife, Kristi, and I have lived in the Van Meter school district since July of 2002. We have four boys, Grant (12), Drew(10), Will(5) and Ben(3). Kristi and I both grew up in smaller towns so the move to Van Meter has suited our family well and we have made a lot of great friends here.

I graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1989 and completed my four year degree from Central College in 1993. I enjoyed playing football at Central and the education I received. This is also where I met Kristi. I currently operate my insurance agency with Shelter Insurance in downtown Van Meter. After nearly 16 years in West Des Moines I decided to move closer to home and the community we care about. Kristi is an elementary school teacher but has stayed home with our boys until they are all in school.

My wife and I take an active interest in our children’s education and their sports activities. I have been active in youth sports in the form of coaching, planning, and general field maintenance and will continue to do so.. I have also done some varsity and junior high coaching at Van Meter over the past 15 years and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

I’d like to personally thank everyone who took part in the election process and I vow to do my very best for Van Meter Schools and our children over the next 4 years.
